About
Hi - I’m Andrew (Scotch) Macaskill and, as you can see from the photo, I’m from the “fax generation” i.e. someone who didn’t grow up with computers and the Internet.

That also applies to most my friends and business associates … so we’re all pretty clueless about computers, digital gadgets and the Net compared to the kids of today. But I’m not accepting that and I try to learn new stuff every day.
Although I originally qualified as a lawyer in South Africa, I quit after five years of practice for a career in journalism and photography.
It was while working as a newspaper sub-editor that I saw the cold wind of technology wipe out entire categories of skills. It was about that time (1996) that I first found out about the Internet and decided to start learning HTML and how to put together websites.
After working on newspapers and magazines in South Africa and Australia, I spent about 10 years working for a small company that manufactures and markets outdoor clothing.
So I have experience of working for a small business where I was responsible for getting the business online and connected to the Internet, setting up email accounts, building their websites, and handling various aspects of customer communications and marketing.
I now work full-time from home, helping business associates build and maintain their websites, while also pursuing my interest in wildlife photography and internet business.
